sea & tea

<Our scene begins in the summer of 2000…>
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
[Approx. 5 hours after having met each other]

Sea: Wow, I can’t believe we’ve been here at nerd camp for three whole days and only just met each other! I feel like I’ve known you forever.

T(ea): Yeah, it’s pretty crazy. But you know they say camp time is different than regular time.

Sea: Totally. How old are you anyway?

T(ea): I’m 15. How old are you?

Sea: 14. When will you be 16?

T(ea): October.

Sea: October what?

T(ea): October third. Why?

Sea: [heart attack] THAT’S MY BIRTHDAY TOO!

And thus a friendship was cemented into a soulmate-hood that only became more and more clear over the remaining nineteen days of camp. Afterward, Sea and Tea grew through their teenage years 500 miles apart, but spent an obscene number of hours on the phone talking about life, dreams, and everything else (this was before cell phones–and many a stern talking-to from parents concerned about long-distance charges ensued as a result). They went off to colleges along the east coast, visiting one another occasionally; they traveled, had other loves, crushes, relationships, and breakups. Then in the spring of 2009, something miraculous happened: they got back together…and have been sickeningly happy ever since.

  1. Wow, that is the most beautiful love story I have ever heard in real life. And I’m not one to enjoy love stories. But that is just inspiring and hopeful. Thanks for sharing =]
